Register - Avoiding Credit Card Traps

In 2020 a team of credit union branch managers, commercial lenders, and home mortgage bankers started remote financial literacy classes to help not for profit work force agencies train their clients and we continue to expand on that Mission. 

Financial Literacy New York bases its 1-hour lessons on  the FDIC (U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) 14 module  Money Smart Financial Literacy curriculum.   The lessons include realistic financial scenarios, group activities and discussions, and pre- and post- lesson surveys to confirm that participants will take action to increase their family savings,  improve their FICO scores, or create their own budgets.  

Our instructors are human too!  575 FICO scores, heavily in debt, answer machines filled with debt collector calls, many of us have been there.  We  relate to your union members and your employees and we don't judge but help them avoid financial pain.  We have open adult discussions on improving their FICO scores, setting up savings plans, creating budgets, and avoiding credit impairment, so they can buy their first home when they are ready.
